About the Role
Newhall International School, a prestigious private co-educational day and boarding school located in Chevy View Estate, Lekki, Lagos, is seeking a passionate and skilled Diction and Handwriting Teacher. Key Responsibilities- Teach phonetics, elocution, and proper diction, helping students transition from mumbling to projecting clearly during assemblies and everyday interactions.
- Deliver structured handwriting instruction using Nelson methods, demonstrating a strong understanding of fine motor development and tailored student correction.
- Collaborate closely with the English department, speech therapists, and drama teachers to support holistic student communication.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring assistance with dyslexia.
- Bring learning alive through culture, creativity, inquiry, and real-world relevance, inspiring students to think thoroughly and act confidently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant teaching experience in a reputable school environment.
- Valid teaching certification or PGDE (or currently in progress).
- Exceptional command of English, both spoken and written.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with modern, tech-enabled teaching methods.
