About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking a visionary and results-driven Deputy General Manager, Mechanical Maintenance for our state-of-the-art cement plant in Nigeria. In this executive leadership role, you will play a critical part in driving operational excellence, ensuring maximum equipment availability, and supporting our commitment to sustainable manufacturing and local economic empowerment across the continent.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, mentor, and manage the mechanical maintenance team to ensure peak performance and adherence to operational standards.
- Develop, implement, and rigorously monitor comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Manage departmental budgets and collaborate closely with procurement teams to secure necessary materials, spare parts, and equipment.
- Formulate and execute strategic plans for replacing, upgrading, and modernizing aging machinery and plant infrastructure.
- Prepare and present detailed technical and financial maintenance reports to senior management.
- Ensure full compliance with all local and international environmental, health, safety, and regulatory policies.
- Foster strong cross-functional communication with production and other departments to optimize operational synergy.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 24 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment, specifically cement manufacturing.
- Extensive expert knowledge of cement plant machinery, maintenance processes, and manufacturing workflows.
- Demonstrated success in leading, inspiring, and managing large technical teams.
- Proficiency in enterprise resource planning software, specifically SAP, alongside Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven expertise in financial budget management, strategic procurement, and inventory control systems.
