About the Role

Dangote Group is looking for an experienced Deputy Chief Engineer (Electrical) to join its dynamic engineering team at the Numan plant. This role is critical to ensuring the trouble-free operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting the plant's overall power generation targets through effective preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

As a key member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will work closely with technicians and operations personnel to maintain equipment reliability, ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, and uphold the highest standards of safety across all maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist technicians in ensuring trouble-free operation of all power plant equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of all plant equipment within the assigned section to meet power generation targets.
  • Initiate corrective actions and necessary measures to address equipment malfunctions and complications.
  • Maintain and monitor records of equipment miscarriages, and update history cards to track maintenance activities.
  • Execute jobs assigned by technicians or the operations team to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Report any electrical equipment complications promptly to the Chief Engineer.
  • Ensure the availability of standby equipment and maintain critical spares for all equipment within the assigned area.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during operations and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in executing servicing and maintenance of electrical equipment during off-cop periods.
  • Uphold and enforce safety standards across all operational and maintenance activities.

Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • NATE certification or other relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques for electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
  • Strong project management, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
