About the Role
African Natural Resources & Mines Limited (ANRML), a proud part of the African Industries Group, is seeking a talented and experienced DCS Engineer to join our growing Power Plant Operation team in Gujeni, Kaduna State. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our power plant equipment through precise monitoring and control of process parameters using advanced Distributed Control Systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our backward integration initiatives in steel production and large-scale mining operations.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor Boiler and Turbine systems seamlessly through the Distributed Control System (DCS).
- Continuously track critical plant operating parameters including pressure, temperature, flow, and level variables.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of boilers, turbines, and all associated auxiliary equipment.
- Analyze plant performance, alarms, and process deviations directly through DCS interface screens.
- Initiate prompt operational actions in response to alarms, abnormal conditions, and sudden process fluctuations.
- Collaborate effectively with field operators and cross-functional teams to guarantee smooth daily operations.
- Strictly adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive communication and documentation during all shift handovers.
- Identify operational abnormalities early and report equipment or process issues to engineering leads.
- Possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of hands-on professional experience in operating and monitoring DCS within a thermal power plant environment.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in boiler and turbine operations alongside auxiliary systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and quick response time during critical plant operational fluctuations.
