About the Role
Flutterwave is powering Africa's digital economy by providing the underlying technology platform that enables businesses to make and accept payments anywhere. We are currently looking for a strategic Data & Analytics Lead to revolutionize our Group Internal Audit Function through cutting-edge data engineering and AI automation.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver the data layer for continuous assurance, collaborating with engineering teams to secure read-only access to production data.
- Build and operate AI-powered monitoring agents across settlements, reconciliations, revenue assurance, and API transaction integrity.
- Maintain the live Assurance Dashboard to track top risks, revenue leakage, critical findings, and fraud trends.
- Ensure robust data quality, lineage, and compliance with data protection and privacy requirements across all pipelines.
- Baseline and track outcome KPIs, translating analytics results into actionable insights for the Head of Internal Audit and executive management.
- Partner across departments like Engineering, Finance, Treasury, and Risk to maintain audit independence while coaching the audit team in modern analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, engineering, statistics, finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience building data pipelines, analytics, or automation in financial services, fintech, or data-intensive environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, coupled with hands-on experience using modern cloud data stacks and BI dashboard platforms.
- Demonstrated experience building anomaly detection, reconciliation, or monitoring solutions on large transaction datasets.
- Practical application of AI or LLM-based tools to solve complex business problems with validated accuracy.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, CFE, or cloud and data engineering credentials are highly preferred.
