About the Role
Hyatt is guided by its purpose: to care for people so they can be their best. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Credit Manager to join our finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the hotel's credit control and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, effective credit risk management, accurate customer accounts, and strict compliance with financial policies to protect our cash flow and financial interests.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and enforce robust credit control policies and procedures across the hotel.
- Review credit applications from corporate clients, travel agencies, and business partners, recommending appropriate credit limits.
- Oversee accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely dispatch, and meticulous ageing report maintenance.
- Establish effective debt collection strategies, following up on overdue accounts and resolving billing discrepancies collaboratively.
- Prepare periodic financial reports, reconcile accounts receivable with the general ledger, and support audit activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and prevent unauthorized credit extensions or revenue leakages.
- Supervise, coach, and develop the credit control team to foster high performance and professionalism.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as ICAN or ACCA will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in credit management, accounts receivable, or financial control, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Previous working experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel or an international hospitality organization is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS), accounting software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
