About the Role
Acmecare Montessori Academy, a reputable private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a talented and passionate Creative/Fine Arts Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. This role offers an exciting opportunity to nurture the artistic talents and creative potential of young learners within a stimulating, child-centered learning environment rooted in Montessori principles.
As a Creative/Fine Arts Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping pupils express themselves through various art forms while developing fine motor skills, imagination, and self-confidence. You will design and deliver engaging art curricula that align with the school's educational philosophy and early childhood development goals.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver creative and fine arts lessons tailored to early childhood and primary-level learners
- Develop age-appropriate art curricula that foster creativity, imagination, and self-expression
- Introduce pupils to various art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and craft work
- Create a safe, inspiring, and organized classroom environment conducive to artistic exploration
- Assess and monitor pupils' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their creative growth
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into broader classroom themes and projects
- Organize and prepare pupils' artwork for school exhibitions, events, and open days
- Maintain proper care and inventory of art supplies and classroom materials
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times during lessons and activities
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding pupils' artistic development
- M.Sc, B.Ed, or B.Sc (PGDE) in Fine Arts, Education, or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in early childhood or primary education
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques and creative teaching methods
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children
- Familiarity with the Montessori teaching approach is an added advantage
