About the Role
The Dangote Group, one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, is seeking an exceptional Contract Management Lead to drive strategic oversight of our end-to-end contract management function. Based in Lagos, our organization spans cement manufacturing, sugar refining, flour milling, logistics, and real estate across the continent. You will ensure all contracts align with our commercial objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements while providing leadership to our contract management team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the complete contract lifecycle—from drafting through negotiation, execution, and close-out across all business units
- Oversee preparation and negotiation of complex, high-value contracts including NDAs, EPC agreements, supply contracts, and licensing arrangements
- Supervise and mentor the Contract Management team, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery
- Serve as primary escalation point for complex contractual disputes and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders
- Establish and enforce standardized contract management processes, templates, and compliance frameworks
- Monitor contract performance and maintain a centralized contracts database for audit and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Projects teams to align contractual terms with business objectives
- Provide strategic advice to senior management on contractual risk, negotiation strategy, and mitigation measures
- Drive continuous improvement in contract management systems and processes
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification; Master's degree in Law preferred
- Active membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); ICSAN membership advantageous
- Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience in legal and contract management roles
- Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts in manufacturing, oil & gas, or multinational environments
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing contract management teams
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, procurement processes, and regulatory compliance
- Expertise in risk assessment, dispute resolution, and contract management systems
- Advanced analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software
