About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a state-of-the-art 500-bed specialty hospital offering world-class diagnostics and treatment in partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Consultant Urologist to provide exceptional medical and surgical care, lead our multidisciplinary urology team, and advance urological practice through innovation and education across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver expert diagnostic and surgical care for complex urological conditions, including uro-oncology, endourology, and reconstructive urology.
- Perform minimally invasive, open, and robotic-assisted urological procedures with high clinical precision.
- Lead and supervise the urology department, guiding junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in clinical excellence.
- Actively participate in the Urology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to optimize cancer care planning and treatment outcomes.
- Drive clinical governance, quality assurance audits, and the development of evidence-based surgical protocols.
- Contribute to medical education, resident supervision, and impactful clinical research initiatives.
- MBBS or equivalent recognized medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Fellowship in Urology or related surgical specialty (e.g., FMCS, FWACS, FRCS, or international equivalent).
- Current full registration and valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 7 years of post-fellowship clinical experience with a robust surgical portfolio.
- Demonstrated sub-specialization expertise in areas such as uro-oncology, endourology, or andrology is highly advantageous.
- Proven leadership experience within a hospital setting, coupled with a strong track record in academic research and teaching.
