About the Role
FMR Agency is currently recruiting a detail-oriented, ethical, and proactive Compliance Officer for a client in the microfinance banking sector located in New Kenyatta, Ugwuaji, Enugu. The successful candidate will ensure that all bank operations strictly align with applicable banking laws, internal policies, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor day-to-day bank operations to ensure strict adherence to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and internal compliance policies.
- Ensure full compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
- Develop, review, and implement robust compliance frameworks, internal controls, and procedural updates.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews, identify operational risks, and investigate any regulatory breaches.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate regulatory reports and returns to relevant financial authorities within stipulated deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal audit, risk management, and operations teams to strengthen institutional compliance and resolve identified gaps.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance training and awareness sessions for all bank personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in compliance, risk management, or internal control within the Nigerian financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of CBN regulatory frameworks applicable to microfinance banks.
- Strong grasp of financial crime prevention, AML/CTF guidelines, and KYC documentation procedures.
- Relevant professional certifications in compliance or risk management will be a distinct advantage.
