About the Role
West Africa Vocational Academies is seeking a dedicated and commercially minded Commercial Lawyer to join a dynamic Corporate & Commercial Practice team in a hybrid work environment (4 days on-site, 1 day remote). This role offers the opportunity to advise top-tier clients on complex commercial transactions, draft critical agreements, conduct due diligence, and provide strategic legal support across diverse corporate matters within the Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities- Structure, negotiate, draft, and review complex commercial agreements including service, supply, partnership, and shareholder contracts.
- Conduct thorough legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, investments, and corporate restructuring exercises.
- Provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, company secretarial matters, and general commercial law.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare advisory opinions, compliance reports, and statutory filings.
- Supervise junior legal staff, maintain accurate transaction records, and support billing and matter management.
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and BL qualification required.
- 4-6 years of post-call experience in commercial and corporate law within the Nigerian jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and handling corporate transactions.
