About the Role
Pullus Africa Solutions Ltd is Africa’s first poultry-focused supply chain platform, leveraging technology to transform local poultry production and distribution. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Coldroom Officer to join our operations team in Kaduna. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our cold chain, ensuring that all frozen and perishable poultry products are stored, handled, and managed according to the highest industry standards to minimize waste and maximize customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, store, and systematically arrange frozen and perishable products in the cold room facility according to approved company procedures.
- Monitor and record appropriate temperature levels continuously to guarantee optimal storage conditions for all inventory.
- Execute proper stock rotation using the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method to minimize product wastage and spoilage.
- Conduct routine physical stock counts and maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records in collaboration with the operations team.
- Inspect incoming and stored products for quality, damage, or degradation, promptly reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Enforce strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health regulations at all times.
- Supervise and assist with the safe loading and offloading of products, ensuring careful handling procedures are followed.
- Identify and report any equipment faults, temperature fluctuations, or operational hazards immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards within the cold room and immediate surrounding work zones.
- Minimum of an NCE or OND in Food Science, Agriculture, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 2 years of proven work experience in cold room operations, warehouse management, or perishable inventory handling.
- Foundational understanding of cold chain management, food safety standards, and agricultural storage best practices.
- Physically fit with the endurance required to work comfortably in low-temperature cold room environments for extended periods.
- Must currently reside in Kaduna or be willing to resume work locally without relocation delays.
