About the Role
The Dangote Group is Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, renowned for excellence in manufacturing, cement production, and infrastructural development. We are currently seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief General Manager, Mechanical to lead our plant mechanical operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this executive leadership role, you will hold overall responsibility for the safe maintenance, repair, and optimization of plant mechanical equipment, driving maximum production quality and efficiency while aligning with our corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and monitor plant mechanical performance using advanced tracking tools, benchmarking, and key performance indicators.
- Ensure the safe maintenance, repair, and replacement of all plant mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Develop and enforce robust policies and procedures for manufacturing methods, product quality, and workplace safety.
- Implement cost-saving strategies by optimizing the effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Drive continuous improvement programs to enhance equipment reliability and support overall plant profitability targets.
- Foster a strong safety culture, mobilizing all plant employees and contractors to adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- An MBA or equivalent professional qualification is strictly required.
- Minimum of 25 years of extensive experience in the repairs and maintenance of cement manufacturing equipment.
- At least 5 years of proven leadership experience at a senior management level within a heavy manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of cement production processes, SAP-based maintenance systems, and international industry trends.
