About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking an experienced Central Maintenance Workshop Manager to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all mechanical maintenance activities across our state-of-the-art cement plant, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, optimal resource allocation, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies, predictive schedules, and asset management plans for all plant machinery.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and workshop personnel to achieve peak performance.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), budget compliance, and resource utilization to drive cost-efficiency.
- Coordinate major plant maintenance shutdowns, overhauls, and capital engineering projects efficiently.
- Enforce rigorous compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all workshop and plant operations.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and present maintenance metrics to senior leadership to guide strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field; relevant postgraduate qualifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role within heavy industry or manufacturing.
- Demonstrated expertise in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and heavy machinery workshop management.
