About the Role
The Dangote Group is one of Africa's largest and most diversified business conglomerates, renowned for excellence, quality products, and market leadership. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Central Maintenance Workshop Manager to join our operations at the Okpella Plant in Edo State, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all mechanical maintenance activities across the cement plant, ensuring optimal equipment reliability, resource allocation, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards to drive our operational excellence forward.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies, schedules, and policies for all plant assets to maximize uptime.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary team of maintenance engineers and technicians.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), ensure budget compliance, and optimize resource utilization across the workshop.
- Coordinate major plant maintenance shutdowns, overhauls, and related capital projects effectively.
- Ensure full compliance with corporate and regulatory safety, environmental, and quality standards in all daily activities.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives to prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the team.
- Prepare detailed operational reports and present maintenance performance updates to senior plant management.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive maintenance experience in heavy industry, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholders.
