Key Responsibilities- Prepare and complete monthly reconciliations across assigned balance sheet accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconcile general ledger balances against supporting schedules, sub-ledgers, and bank statements.
- Investigate reconciling items, unusual balances, and inconsistencies to determine root causes.
- Coordinate with relevant finance teams and departments to resolve outstanding and aged discrepancies.
- Maintain clear reconciliation schedules, audit trails, and robust supporting documentation.
- Support internal and external audit requests relating to balance sheet accounts.
- Identify weaknesses in reconciliation procedures and recommend practical process improvements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and review account balances for potential reporting errors.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, or balance sheet reconciliations.
- Demonstrated practical experience in preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounts, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and core accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience using reputable accounting software or ERP systems.
