About the Role

Stanbic IBTC Bank, a member of Standard Bank Group, is looking for a dedicated Assistant Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking to join its dynamic team. This role is central to delivering proactive, value-adding support services to Commercial Banking clients, ensuring efficient transaction processing and seamless operational support for Relationship Managers.

As part of a full-service financial institution with a strong footprint across Nigeria, you will play a key role in strengthening client relationships while gaining exposure to credit analysis, portfolio management, and business banking operations within a highly reputable organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive and value-adding support services to Commercial Banking clients to improve efficiency and reduce transaction processing times.
  • Serve as a support and backup for Relationship Managers in managing client portfolios.
  • Assist in preparing credit motivations and applying sound lending principles.
  • Verify applications and ensure accurate submission of client documentation.
  • Support account opening, maintenance, and customer acceptance processes.
  • Utilise product-related systems to deliver efficient and accurate banking services.
  • Build strong understanding of customer needs to enhance service delivery.
  • Interpret data and document facts accurately to support decision-making.

Qualifications
  • First Degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • 3 - 4 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, servicing Business or Commercial Banking clients.
  • Experience in a branch sales and/or service role is required.
  • Sound understanding of lending principles and experience preparing credit motivations.
  • Strong skills in examining information, interpreting data, and articulating findings clearly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with customer acceptance and review procedures, as well as account opening and maintenance processes.
