About the Role
Dangote Group, one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, is seeking a skilled Assistant Mining Engineer to join our dynamic mining operations team. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, you will play a critical role in supervising mining shift teams and ensuring optimized operational performance across our large-scale mining facilities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to Africa's industrial development while working with cutting-edge mining equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise mining shift teams and personnel to ensure efficient execution of mining activities and achievement of production targets
- Monitor equipment performance and minimize idle running time while maintaining smooth loading faces and haulage roads
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a secure work environment for all personnel
- Collaborate with drilling teams to optimize drilling performance and productivity
- Manage blasting face preparation, ensuring proper cleaning and boulder removal
- Maintain accurate operational data and timely reporting of mining activities
- Execute additional assignments as directed by the Deputy Mining Engineer
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Geology, Mining Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant mining or quarrying operations experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of cement production and mining processes
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Proven relationship management abilities
