About the Role
Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager, Engineering to join our pre-opening team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Director of Engineering in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel's engineering and maintenance department, ensuring all building infrastructure and life-safety systems operate efficiently and in strict accordance with Hyatt standards and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in supervising and coordinating daily hotel engineering and maintenance operations.
- Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, and chillers are properly maintained.
- Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance schedules for guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house.
- Respond promptly to guest issues, maintenance requests, and critical facility emergencies.
- Monitor energy consumption and support local sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and provide on-the-job training to engineering technicians and tradesmen.
- Coordinate with outside contractors, manage tool and spare parts inventory, and ensure rigorous safety compliance.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical and maintenance experience within a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills with familiarity in BMS, HVAC, and fire-life safety systems.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
