About the Role
Afconrecruit Limited is recruiting an Assistant Laundry Specialist on behalf of a reputable hotel within the dynamic Nigerian hospitality industry. We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and service-oriented professional to join our housekeeping team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction by ensuring all linens, uniforms, and guest garments are impeccably cared for and delivered promptly.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with washing, drying, ironing, and folding hotel linens, towels, staff uniforms, and guest garments with high attention to detail.
- Sort laundry accurately according to color, fabric type, and specific washing instructions to prevent damage.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers and dryers, safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all freshly laundered items are properly folded, organized, stored, and delivered to the correct hotel departments.
- Maintain optimal cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness within the entire laundry work area.
- Identify and report any damaged, torn, or heavily stained items to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining adequate stock of laundry supplies, chemicals, and detergents.
- Strictly adhere to hotel safety, health regulations, and quality standards at all times.
- Perform other ancillary laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum of an SSCE, OND, or equivalent educational qualification.
- Previous working experience in a hotel, commercial laundry facility, or hospitality environment is a distinct advantage.
- Strong physical fitness and the stamina required to handle repetitive, hands-on laundry tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail, cleanliness, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated honesty, reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
