About the Role
Chi Farms Ltd., a leading integrated agribusiness in Nigeria specializing in poultry, aquaculture, and veterinary services, is seeking a dedicated and analytical Animal Nutritionist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and optimizing balanced, cost-effective feed formulations and nutrition programs for broilers, layers, breeders, and other livestock. By ensuring our animals receive optimal nutrition, you will directly drive feed efficiency, health, and profitability across our feed mill and farm operations.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and optimize least-cost diets for broilers, layers, breeders, and other livestock to maximize performance and health.
- Review ingredient quality, nutrient specifications, and supplier analyses regularly.
- Collaborate closely with the feed mill team to ensure batching accuracy, optimal mixing quality, and rigorous finished feed quality control.
- Track critical farm performance metrics, including Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), weight gain, egg production, and mortality, adjusting nutrition programs as needed.
- Troubleshoot nutrition-related performance and health issues, providing expert recommendations for corrective actions.
- Evaluate new feed additives, premixes, and alternative ingredients through structured trials.
- Support strict compliance with feed safety, biosecurity, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare comprehensive nutrition and performance reports to advise farm and production teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant hands-on experience working within a commercial feed mill or poultry operations environment.
- Proven proficiency in feed formulation software and least-cost formulation methodologies.
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of poultry nutrition, feed ingredients, and quality control protocols.
- Excellent data analysis, reporting, and interpersonal communication skills.
