About the Role
Acmecare Montessori Academy, a reputable private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Agricultural Science Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that introduce students to the fundamentals of agriculture, promote environmental awareness, and inspire interest in agribusiness and sustainable farming practices.

Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive Agricultural Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Develop students' theoretical and practical understanding of crop production, animal husbandry, and soil science.
- Organize and supervise practical farming activities, school garden projects, and field demonstrations.
- Assess and evaluate students' academic performance through tests, assignments, and practical exercises.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Foster a safe, interactive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school administration to support the overall educational goals of the institution.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
- Guide students in understanding modern agricultural techniques and sustainable practices.
- M.Sc, B.Ed, or B.Sc (with PGDE) in Agricultural Science or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably at the primary or secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural concepts, farming techniques, and environmental sustainability.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners.
- Ability to design practical, hands-on learning experiences for students.
- Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum implementation.
