About the Role
Uni-Medical Healthcare Ltd Nigeria, a subsidiary of global manufacturing leader Unigloves, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our supermarket. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity, recording transactions accurately, and ensuring strict compliance with established internal controls.
Key Responsibilities- Record and reconcile daily sales from the POS system with cash, bank transfers, and card payments.
- Monitor cash collections and lodgements, actively investigating any cash shortages or variances.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and post transactions into the enterprise accounting system.
- Monitor inventory transactions, reconcile physical stock with system records, and assist with stock valuation.
- Verify supplier invoices, maintain supplier accounts, and monitor outstanding balances.
- Record operating expenses, manage petty cash, and assist with monthly payroll preparation.
- Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly sales, cash, stock, and financial reports.
- Assist with monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations, and overall audit requirements under the Head of Finance.
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a supermarket, retail, or FMCG environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software.
- Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with POS systems and perform precise reconciliations.
