About the Role
The Borough Lagos is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you will oversee financial operations, manage inventory controls, and ensure maximum profitability across our restaurant and retail divisions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets.
- Reconcile daily POS sales across cash, card, and transfer transactions.
- Conduct internal audits on cash handling, inventory, and operational workflows.
- Track inventory movement, cost of goods sold (COGS), wastage, and variances.
- Manage monthly payroll processing and statutory deductions like PAYE and pension.
- Oversee supplier invoices, payments, and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify financial leakages and cost-saving opportunities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience in the restaurant, supermarket, or retail sector.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and inventory control skills.
- ICAN certification or being actively in view is a strong advantage.
