About the Role

The Paper Packaging Company (TPPC) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to oversee its day-to-day financial operations and support the company's continued growth in the sustainable packaging industry. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja, ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across departments to drive sound financial practices.

Founded in 2014, TPPC is a pioneering force in sustainable packaging, dedicated to transforming how food and beverages are packaged and consumed. As the company scales, the Accountant will play a key role in strengthening financial systems, improving reporting accuracy, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while supporting management with actionable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cost and production accounting across all inventory types (raw materials, WIP, finished goods)
  • Prepare management accounts, variance analysis, and profitability reports by product/client
  • Maintain accurate double-entry books with disciplined month-end close processes
  • Handle the full accounts payable/receivable cycle, vendor reconciliation, and payment terms
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to support liquidity planning
  • Prepare and manage budgets across departments
  • Ensure tax compliance and timely statutory filings
  • Enforce strong internal controls across all accounting processes
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards
  • Lead and grow the accounts function as the company scales
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders, including operations and procurement teams

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a growing organization
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
