About the Role
The Paper Packaging Company (TPPC) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to oversee its day-to-day financial operations and support the company's continued growth in the sustainable packaging industry. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja, ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across departments to drive sound financial practices.
Founded in 2014, TPPC is a pioneering force in sustainable packaging, dedicated to transforming how food and beverages are packaged and consumed. As the company scales, the Accountant will play a key role in strengthening financial systems, improving reporting accuracy, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while supporting management with actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities- Manage cost and production accounting across all inventory types (raw materials, WIP, finished goods)
- Prepare management accounts, variance analysis, and profitability reports by product/client
- Maintain accurate double-entry books with disciplined month-end close processes
- Handle the full accounts payable/receivable cycle, vendor reconciliation, and payment terms
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to support liquidity planning
- Prepare and manage budgets across departments
- Ensure tax compliance and timely statutory filings
- Enforce strong internal controls across all accounting processes
- Support audits and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards
- Lead and grow the accounts function as the company scales
- Communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders, including operations and procurement teams
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a growing organization
