We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee our financial operations, ensure absolute accuracy in financial reporting, and drive compliance with Nigerian regulatory standards. The successful candidate will provide essential leadership to our accounting team, manage complex financial processes, and deliver actionable insights to support our continued organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Supervise general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Lead loan accounting processes, including disbursements, repayments, interest recognition, and portfolio tracking.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports, including VAT, SCUML, and tax obligations.
- Monitor and reconcile income, customer repayments, and accounts to resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support financial planning.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and key financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certification such as ICAN or ACCA is a strong advantage.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated experience in loan accounting and portfolio management.
- Proficiency in modern accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
