About the Role
Bolton White Hotels & Apartments, a leading hospitality destination located in the heart of Abuja, is seeking a meticulous and driven Account Officer to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring strict compliance with local financial regulations. You will work closely with management to monitor revenues, control operating expenses, and safeguard the financial assets of our 176-room luxury hotel, conference center, and banqueting facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Record, classify, and summarize daily financial transactions including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and banquet income.
- Perform bank reconciliations, manage accounts payable and receivable, and oversee petty cash operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as accurate payroll processing and statutory tax remittances.
- Conduct variance analysis on operating expenses and implement effective cost control measures.
- Support internal and external audits by providing thorough documentation and maintaining robust financial internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and revenue strategies to drive business profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Active professional certification such as ICAN or equivalent is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in hotel management and accounting software such as Opera, MICROS, QuickBooks, or SunSystems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other modern financial reporting tools.
