About the Role
Proforce Limited is a leading total defence solution provider specializing in the manufacturing of advanced armored vehicles and personal protection equipment in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a skilled, detail-oriented AC Technician to join our dynamic engineering and production team at our modern manufacturing facility in Ode Remo, Ogun State. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and testing automotive Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and climate control units across our specialized vehicle lines.
Key Responsibilities- Install, route, and charge complete automotive air conditioning systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigerant lines on vehicle assembly lines.
- Perform pressure testing, vacuum evacuation, electronic leak detection, and dye tracing to isolate and resolve refrigerant leaks or system blockages.
- Wire and integrate climate control switches, relays, thermostats, blower motors, and electronic control units into the main vehicle electrical harness.
- Safely recover, recycle, and recharge automotive refrigerants in strict accordance with environmental and industrial safety standards.
- Execute rigorous operational performance tests under simulated extreme temperature conditions to evaluate cooling efficiency and durability in heavy-duty armored cabins.
- Perform routine maintenance, component overhauls, and immediate HVAC troubleshooting during assembly or Quality Control inspections.
- Possess NABTEB, Trade Test Class 1, OND, or HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on automotive AC installation and repair experience within a vehicle assembly plant or specialized workshop.
- Comprehensive understanding of vapor-compression refrigeration cycles, automotive thermodynamics, and DC electrical circuits.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
- Strong diagnostic problem-solving abilities and high proficiency with manifold gauge sets, vacuum pumps, and electronic leak detectors.
